The forest sigh
As rain drenches
green leaves above
brown roots below
Where birds nestle
Where squirrels cuddle
in symphony of warmth
The land virgin
The parched surface
Man never walked
Man never toiled
But.
some day some when
They will…
you will know
there is something colder
colder than rain
man's ruthlessness
woman's cold shoulder
you will, they will
know...
* * *
The cat leaps
With an instinct
As the frog flees
From its curious paws
As the rain ceases
Peace reigns
Except the constant drips
Lights go out
I am
in darkness...
Left on my own
…sigh…..
